Plug In and Turn It Up: Rock Band Boot Camp Returns to Headwaters, July 14–18
There’s nothing like the thrill of a first chord ringing out across the room. The breath before a verse. The shared pulse of a group locking into a groove. If you’ve got a young musician in your life itching to go beyond practice and into the power of performance, Headwaters Music & Arts’ Rock Band Boot Camp is calling.
Set for July 14–18 from 1–4pm, this high-energy, week-long camp invites students in grades 4–12—with at least a year or two of experience on guitar, bass, drums, piano, or voice—to dive headfirst into the world of band dynamics, live performance, and creative exploration.
Led by rockers and educators Vincent Noble and Sam Graves, Rock Band Boot Camp blends structured skill-building with the freedom to jam, collaborate, and even experiment on a secondary instrument. Think cover songs, songwriting, soloing, harmonies, improvisation—and maybe a few laughs along the way.
🛠 What Campers Can Expect:
Practice with fellow musicians in a real band setting
Learn the art of listening, adapting, and supporting one another musically
Develop confidence in soloing, singing lead, or stepping into new roles
Experiment with secondary instruments, songwriting, and group arrangement
And most exciting of all: A final performance on Friday, July 18 at 4:00pm, where friends and family are invited to rock out with the next generation of Bemidji’s finest.
Tuition is $200, and space is limited—so early registration is encouraged. [Insert registration link]
This camp is more than just music—it’s about community, courage, and discovery. At Headwaters, we believe creativity thrives when students feel supported, seen, and free to explore. Whether a camper dreams of being on tour or just wants to find their sound, Rock Band Boot Camp is the place to plug in, turn up, and let it rip.
